Privacy Policy
For the game Trails & Towers (Android, iPhone and iPad) and this website. Last updated: October 8, 2026.
In short
There is no account, no ads, no purchases and no third-party analytics. The game only sends game data to our own server, and only if you agree. On iPhone and iPad the game also exchanges data with Apple if you use Game Center.

Your save on the device
The game stores your progress (Glimmer, buildings, towers, best results, achievements) and your settings on your device. This is strictly necessary for the game (Section 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG). If you delete the game, the save on the device is gone too.
Sharing game data (optional)
At the first start the game asks whether you want to share game data. Only if you agree does it send to our server:
- gameplay: waves, cards, towers, monsters, gold, village progress, in-game settings and what you do in the game,
- performance: frame rate, hitches, memory, temperature, battery use,
- device: model, operating system and version, processor, graphics chip, screen, language and region.
The data carries a random identifier the game creates when you agree. No name, account, location or advertising IDs are sent. We use the data to balance the game and to find bugs and hitches.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time in the game's settings. The game then deletes data not yet sent and the random identifier; after that we can no longer link data already sent to you.
The server is run by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) in its data center in Helsinki, Finland, inside the EU. When receiving data the server processes your IP address for technical reasons but does not store it with the game data.
Android and Google Play
Downloads and updates go through Google Play under Google's privacy policy. If you allow sharing usage and diagnostics data on your device, Google gives us aggregated statistics and crash reports that do not identify you.
Apple Game Center (optional)
If you are signed in to Game Center on iPhone or iPad, the game uses it for leaderboards and achievements and sends Apple your score per world (wave reached and standard health left) and the achievements you earn. To sign in, Game Center gives the game your player profile on the device; the game does not show or share any of it. Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland) runs Game Center under its own responsibility, see Game Center & Privacy. The legal basis is providing the feature you want to use (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
Save in iCloud
With Game Center and iCloud Drive the game keeps a copy of your save in your iCloud so you can continue on several Apple devices. A run in progress stays on the device. We cannot see the copy. How Apple protects iCloud data is described in the iCloud data security overview. You can delete it in iOS Settings under your name → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Statistics and diagnostic reports from Apple
If "Share With App Developers" is on in iOS Settings, Apple gives us aggregated statistics and crash reports that do not identify you (App Analytics & Privacy). The game also forwards Apple's daily performance and diagnostic reports (MetricKit) to our server. Without your consent in the game each carries a new random identifier, so they cannot be linked to each other. You can turn this off in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Notifications
If you allow it, the game reminds you with a local notification that a building is finished. The notification is scheduled on the device; no data is sent for it.
This website
The website is served by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP address, requested address, time and browser and connection details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, available website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). For transfers to the USA Cloudflare relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, details in Cloudflare's privacy policy. The website sets no cookies of its own, uses no tracking and serves its fonts itself.
Email to support
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to answer you (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them once the request is done and no retention duty applies. The mailbox is hosted by Proton AG in Switzerland.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Just send us an email. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); for us this is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA).
Changes
If the game gets new features that affect data, we update this policy first.
